At Summerside, we love families and want to support and encourage them as they grow together in loving, serving, and learning more about Jesus and their journey with him. Below, you will find the ministries we have here which are intended to help parents as they raise their children to embrace a life of faith:
Sunday Mornings – We have classes for infants through grade 2. While the nursery is open and staffed for infants throughout the entire service, children (preschool and up) sit with their parents for the first part of the service and then those in preschool through grade 2 are dismissed just before the sermon to their own classes. Here, they will learn about Jesus as they explore the Bible with stories, games, and crafts. Parents are to pick up their children from their classes immediately after the service. If your child is feeling restless, and needs a break, at any time during the service, please feel free to take them to the foyer to move around a bit. You can still continue to hear, and see, the service from there.
32 50 – After the service from 11:15am to noon (according to the schedule), kids in grades 3 to 5, are invited upstairs to the KUR (Kids Upper Room) for a time of Scripture learning (with an emphasis on teaching the kids how to delve into Scripture on their own using who, what, when, where, why, and how) as we follow the sermon series.
Other Events @ Summerside
Play & Grow – Preschoolers and their caregivers are here on Wednesday mornings from 9:30am to 11:15am to play together and meet friends. We provide the toys and snacks. We meet during the school calendar year and take a break for the summer. ** PLEASE NOTE THAT PLAY & GROW WILL BE WRAPPING UP, FOR THE SUMMER, ON MAY 30 – BUT, WE WILL SEE YOU AGAIN ON SEPTEMBER 12!
Kids Camp – For one week each summer, kids from JK to grade 5 will enjoy a morning (9am to noon) of camping fun while learning about what the Bible says about the love Jesus has for them. On the Thursday evening of camp week, parents are invited to have a camp-style hot dog dinner here with their kids and will have an opportunity to see what their child has been doing at camp all week. Our 2017 camp will run July 17 to 21. Check out the promo clip here as kids enjoy epic adventures alongside some of their favorite Bible heroes and discover the qualities that make us truly heroic in God.
