At Summerside, we love families and want to support and encourage them as they grow together in loving, serving, and learning more about Jesus and their journey with him. We have classes for infants through grade 2 during our worship service. While the nursery is open and staffed for infants throughout the entire service, children (preschool and up) sit with their parents for the first part of the service and then those in preschool through grade 2 (see below for more on Grades 3 to 5) are dismissed just before the sermon to their own classes. Here, they will learn about Jesus as they explore the Bible with stories, games, and crafts. Parents are to pick up their children from their classes immediately after the service. If your child is feeling restless and needs a break at any point during the service, please feel free to take them to the foyer to move around a bit. You can still continue to hear, and see, the service from there. Below, you will find the ministries we have here which are intended to help parents as they raise their children to embrace a life of faith:
Sunday Mornings – The following are available for children at both our 9:15am and 11am services:

Attention All Grade 3 – 5 Kids! Come by the Kids’ Check-In area and pick up your Sermon Notes page for the service. Fill it out during the service by listening to our Pastors and taking notes as best you can. Bring your completed page to me at the end of the service to receive a small treat and a ballot for our monthly draw!

Other Events @ Summerside
Summerside Play Group – Preschoolers and their caregivers are here on Wednesday mornings, following the school-year calendar, from 9:15am to 11:15am to play together and meet friends. We provide the toys and snacks and no registration is required. Come and play with your preschooler.
ReRoot is for Grades 3-5. This runs on Tuesday evenings from 6:15-7:45pm. The evening includes games, bible study, and small group discussion. The next block starts January 31, 2023. Registration is required HERE. Looking forward to seeing you there!
Summer Day Camps at Summerside 2023– Summerside Families and Families in Summerside, we are hosting 5-weeks of Bible-based summer day camps running here, at Summerside Church, this summer. Check out all of the day camp opportunities HERE for your children to grow in God’s Word and have a ton of fun at a day camp this summer. *Please note that the church does not look after registrations. You must register via the provided links to each camp’s webpage.
L&DA Camp Scholarship – This scholarship is available to help families (regardless of income), who attend an L&DA recognized church, with the cost of camp registration fees for their children attending a Christian summer camp (overnight camps only). The application period for 2022 is now closed.
Divorce Care For Kids (DC4K) – DC4K is a ministry for children between the ages of 5 & 12 who are experiencing the pain of a broken relationship in their home. We run alongside Divorce Care from 6pm to 8pm for 13 weeks. Registration is free (included with the Divorce Care fee); however, we do require you to complete an information form for each child. WE REGRET THAT WE ARE UNABLE TO RUN THIS PROGRAM AT THIS TIME.
Armour Hockey – Is dedicated to teaching kids fundamental and advanced hockey skills while encouraging each player to participate in daily Bible stories and devotionals as led by their coaches. This is open to boys and girls ages 7 to 13 and runs on Saturday mornings, beginning in either September or October at the Dorchester Community Centre. Contact the church office for registration details.
At Summerside, we are committed to providing a safe place for children/youth to learn about Jesus and to grow in their walk with him. As such, we require all of our volunteers in children’s/youth ministry to provide us with a current police records check and to read and uphold our Child Protection Policy.
