At Summerside, we love families and want to support and encourage them as they grow together in loving, serving, and learning more about Jesus and their journey with him. Below, you will find the ministries we have here which are intended to help parents as they raise their children to embrace a life of faith:
Sunday Mornings – We have classes for infants through grade 2 during our worship service at 10am. While the nursery is open and staffed for infants throughout the entire service, children (preschool and up) sit with their parents for the first part of the service and then those in preschool through grade 5 (see below for more on Grades 3 to 5) are dismissed just before the sermon to their own classes. Here, they will learn about Jesus as they explore the Bible with stories, games, and crafts. Parents are to pick up their children from their classes immediately after the service. If your child is feeling restless and needs a break at any point during the service, please feel free to take them to the foyer to move around a bit. You can still continue to hear, and see, the service from there.
32 50 – During the 10am service (according to the schedule), kids in grades 3 to 5, are dismissed for a time of Scripture learning (with an emphasis on teaching the kids how to delve into Scripture on their own using who, what, when, where, why, and how) as we follow the sermon series.
