As Summerside Kids our desire is to partner with parents as they help their children come to know and follow Jesus.

At Summerside, we believe that we have a call to not only disciple kids, but also be discipled and approach Jesus just like a child.
“He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Therefore, whoever takes the lowly position of this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever welcomes one such child in my name welcomes me.”
Matthew 18:2-5
For that reason, kids are an active part of our community.
Each week, our worship service begins with everyone together. All ages worshipping our God beside each other before going to their own age appropriate classes. This multi-generational community is something special for not only our children, but for the rest of the church as well as we continue grow together in our love, service and worship of Jesus.

We get it, Sunday Morning can be a little hectic...especially with Kids.
Here are some of the questions we typically get asked to hopefully make your Sunday Morning as smooth as possible.
If you have any other questions or need more information please reach out to our Director of Children’s Ministry, Becky Back.
Come and see us at the Children’s Check In desk in the foyer where you can register your child, and you will receive a nametag for your child and security tag for the parent/guardian. On future visits, your information will already be in our system, so you can check in quickly at our kiosk and receive printed name tags.
We value family worship and believe it’s important for children to worship alongside their parents and caregivers. For that reason, kids remain with their families during the first portion of the service. Before the sermon time begins, children are dismissed to their age-appropriate classes for Bible teaching and activities.
Safety is very important to us. All volunteers undergo background checks and Plan to Protect Training. We also have a secure check in/check out process, and only authorized individuals can pick up children.
If your child needs your attention, we will display a code on the screen at the front of the auditorium. This code matches the number on your child’s pickup tag. If you see your number, please head to their classroom.
We believe that a key factor in the growth of any Christian (no matter your age) is consistent Genuine Community.
In order to foster this Community, we offer a couple programs through the week for our Kids and Families.
Summerside Kids Night is our midweek program for kids in grades 1 – 5! This night is designed to help kids grow in their faith, build friendships, and have a great time together. Running from September to April, the year is divided into three unique 8-week sessions, with its own exciting theme.
Each Thursday from 6:00 – 7:30 pm, kids experience engaging Bible teaching, energetic games, and hands-on activities connected to the session theme. Whether they’re conducting science experiments, building their own pieces of armour or tackling adventure challenges, every activity is designed to help kids connect biblical truth to everyday life.
At Summerside Kids Night, children learn about God in a memorable way while building meaningful friendships and growing together in faith.

Playgroup is a welcoming place for young children and their caregivers to connect, play, and build community together. Through free play, stories, and songs children have opportunities to learn, explore, and develop friendships in a fun and caring environment.
For parents, grandparents, and caregivers, Playgroup is a chance to meet other families, build relationships, and enjoy encouragement and conversation while the children play.
Whether you're new to the community or looking for a place to connect, we'd love to have you join us. Playgroup is all about creating a safe, friendly space where children can thrive, and families can find support and friendship.
