The struggle with who we are as a person, a community, a society…humanity, has been so central to the conversation in recent years. We struggle not only with who we are, but in whom and wherein we anchor that identity. When most of the world is looking to splinter off and categorize themselves in new, unique and different ways, it is hard for us as believers to not get caught up in the constantly shifting identity crises of our world. This, however, is not a new problem. The Apostle Peter spoke to this issue throughout much of his preaching and faced this question of “Who Am I?” in pretty significant ways in his life. What can we learn from his experience with identity and who/where he anchored himself.
