God commanded his people to take holidays, or holy days. He doesn’t just suggest it as a good idea, he commands it! These holy days gave people the opportunity to stop work (sometimes for a week at a time). These days also challenged the people to remember the past and reflect on who is providing them life. The result was rejoicing in what God had done for them.
