David wrote Psalm 34 after fleeing from Saul and finding himself in the court of a Philistine king. To save his own life, he pretended to be insane and thus escaped. As we look at David’s life leading up to this Psalm, and then the text itself, we see a change in David’s heart towards God’s provision and protection. A psalm like this can help us recognize the need to declare God’s truths: to God, to each other, and to our own hearts.
