Last week, we learned that the Bible challenges all followers of Christ to “deacon” (the word meaning “to serve” or “servant”). This week we do some self examination to evaluate how we measure up to the qualifications Paul gives for people who are appointed as deacons. Some assume that the “bar” for qualifying as a servant must be pretty low! However, when you realize who it is we are serving, it helps us understand why there is a high standard for all of us as we serve our Lord and King!
